Medicare Physician Fee Cuts Averted

In December, 2006, Congress passed legislation giving physicians a reprieve from the 5% medicare fee cutback scheduled to go into effect on January 1, 2007. The new legislation freezes payments for another year and provides a 1.5% incentive increase on covered services to health care professionals who agree to participate in federal efforts to monitor the quality of healt hcare.
