Shannon is a member of the Firm’s Litigation and Municipal Law divisions and focuses her practice on criminal defense, family law, alternative dispute resolution, labor negotiations, representation of municipalities and sexual harassment and discrimination.
Shannon is an experienced trial attorney; she has tried over 50 criminal jury trials. She is a subject-matter expert in domestic violence and trains nationwide on various topics regarding law enforcement investigations, crime victim considerations and trial advocacy. Passionate about justice and protecting those most vulnerable in our communities, Shannon’s compassionate representation helps clients understand the often-confusing court system. Shannon also utilizes her creative problem solving as a certified mediator.
Shannon is licensed to practice in the State of Iowa, Southern District of Iowa and Northern District of Iowa. She is a member of the Polk County Women’s Attorneys and the Iowa Organization of Women Attorneys. Shannon also serves on the Board of Directors for the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa and appears as a consistent guest legal expert on Court TV.
